    Job Description

     

    1. Position Summary
    • Reports to Sr. VP, Digital Platforms
    • This position is an individual contributor that researches the organization's competitive business landscape, current and potential customers, and customers’ responses to its digital software products, marketing campaigns and product usability in the PC Gaming space.
    • Designs and executes Go-to-Market strategies working with internal dev studios, marketing, and PC partners.
    • Technology evangelist in promoting key PC, graphics tech, and industry best practices to Capcom PC products.
    • Gathers information on business and technology trends, competitors, prices, sales promotions, customer segments, methods of marketing, and software distribution in the PC space. Collects, analyzes and interprets results, and communicates findings to the SVP, Digital Platforms to build digital content strategy and business plan to further expand Capcom PC business.

    III. Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    1. Business Analysis & Planning (Digital Platforms)
    • Works with the SVP, Digital Platforms, members of the Digital Platforms team and other internal stakeholders to determine appropriate digital product line up, distribution, and partnership opportunities.
    • Work closely with Strategic Planning team to assist in designing and conducting of business competitive research and analytical projects that analyze the performance of the organization's business operations and software products, those of our competitors, and emerging business and product and service trends in the PC games industry.
    • Identifies and pursues business prospects and opportunities with internal business partners.
    • Performs title evaluation and digital sales data (internal & external) and determines the game’s marketability and prospects before reaching out to prospective PC partners.
    • Ensures accurate and effective data management by reporting key metrics, business opportunities, game content value (valuation, profitability, and consumer interest), revenue analysis, potential issues and problems. Works with management to address root cause of issues to maximize revenue and ROI.
    • Work with the SVP and internal stakeholders to pursue OEM/PC 1st party (e.g., Valve, Epic Games) partnership opportunities and new distribution schemes (streaming, subscription, etc.)

     

    1. Business Development – Digital Platforms
    • Identifies potential emerging markets, potential new opportunities with internal/external business partners including developer/publisher/1st party/Add-In-Board/Peripheral/System Integrator partners to create business scheme for development/licensing/distribution contract management/co-marketing/co-funding opportunities.
    • Identifies business opportunities and risks for Capcom. May be involved in initial contact and negotiation of business deals on behalf of the department.
    • Pursues business development opportunities for Capcom and is responsible for establishing, creating and setting up agreements with business partners, legal department and Capcom USA.
    • Responsible for managing business development opportunities and contracts with internal and external partners. Such opportunities consist of, but are not limited to: PC OEM bundle deals, licensing, co-marketing, and other partnerships.
    • Responsible for Digital Channel Marketing function focusing on PC products. Will be point of contact for 1st party (e.g., Valve, Epic), Capcom USA marketing, and PowerPhyl Media. Accountable for KPI tracking and eCRM (in coordination w/ Marketing) specific to PC business.
    • Functions as the organization’s technical evangelist and liaison between dev teams and 1st parties for platform initiatives. Serves as the company’s account manager for escalation, business opportunities and other tech/policy-based PC platform initiatives.

    REQUIREMENTS

    1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of PC games software and core hardware technology relevant to the enthusiast PC gaming segment.
    • Bilingual Japanese preferred but not required; English at business level
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
    • Basic knowledge of Capcom’s each videogame brands (at least Capcom’s flagship brands such as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter etc.)
    • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to self-start
    • Excellent coordination skill between the departments internally
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
    • Resourceful and adaptable in meeting goals
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Basic knowledge of licensing business structures including standard conditions etc.
    • Logical thinking skill
    • General interests in videogame and entertainment business, also apparel, publishing, toys, collectibles etc.

    Minimum Requirements

     

    Education and Experience

    • Requires Bachelor’s degree
    • Requires a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in an marketing, sales or analyst role in the videogame or entertainment industries
    • Proficient in office software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
    • Work experience at Japanese companies preferred, but not necessary
