    Position Summary

    Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing Operations, Creative Services, and Events, the Sr. Events Manager is chiefly responsible for all aspects related to managing and executing the planning and implementation of the organization's participation in domestic and international trade shows, exhibitions and special events.   

     

    The type of company events will include tradeshows, consumer events, private media events, and the company’s internal events.

     

    This position plays a key role in the designs, development and implementation of the organization's participation in high profile events to achieve industry-standard outcomes and results. 

     

    The Sr. Events Manager works closely with internal clients from the Product Marketing and Public Relations team to efficiently target event goals while staying within budget.  Major tasks include mentoring the Events Manager, directing and managing the processes of scouting and securing event venues/booth space, budget forecasting and management for marketing operations and events, exhibit layout creation, sourcing and overseeing all on-site vendors, tracking hardware/software needs, negotiation of staff hotel blocks, on-site trouble-shooting, receipt and organization of event assets post-show, and processing of all corresponding paperwork.

    • Event development and planning - 75%, D
    • Manages event master calendar and plan
    • Budget management - 10%, D
    • Contract negotiation and processing - 15%, D
    • On-site event management - 100% while on show-site
    • Forecast and procurement of event resources and technical services.
    • Vendor selection and management - 10%, M
    • Management of Company event assets - 15%, M
    • Research new exhibition opportunities – 25%, Q


     

    REQUIREMENTS

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent
    • Proficiency with MS Word
    • Proficiency with MS Excel
    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
    • Japanese language skills a plus

    Minimum Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent
    • Minimum of 5-7 years corporate tradeshow management experience, preferably in consumer electronics and/or video games industry
    • Experience managing and forecasting six and seven-figure budgets, as well as more limited budgets
    • A proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time is critical
    • Has personnel management experience
    • International event management experience a plus
    • Has a proven record of producing and managing successful, well-recognized events
    • Interest in and knowledge of video games preferred

    Licenses, Certificates and Other

    A valid California Class A Driver’s License.

     

    Physical Demands

    Ability to lift objects of up to 25 pounds in weight.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  This job includes regular domestic air travel—applicant must be willing to travel regularly. Job entails long work days during events up to 12-14 hours per day.
