OVERVIEW

Job Title: QA Lead & Evaluation Tester - CUSAQA Lead & Evaluation Tester - CUSA

 

Position Summary: Assist QA Manager on assigned projects, and performs Game Quality Evaluations and Studies of titles in Development. Along with the QA Manager, helps guide a team (external & internal) in executing test plans on pre-release versions of software to detect and record product defects.  In addition, they will perform regular Qualitative Evaluations on all games in development and game content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Duties:

  • Liaison with game developers, outsourced QA testers, in-house testers, and drive testing process with all parties.
  • Performs evaluations of titles in development, generating feedback on user experience, and critically analyzing the titles against certain sets of criteria and Quality Thresholds.
  • Collect and analyze test data for titles in the QA process.
  • Utilize bug database to identify and organize analysis of issues for games.
  • Assists the QA Manager in management of the test team, as well as with Test Plan Creation.
  • Performs high-level, critical game testing.
  • To perform additional duties where required

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience/specific skills & knowledge needed for position:

  • College degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years QA testing experience
  • At least 1 year in a QA lead tester role on a published title.
  • Firm understanding of game industry QA testing and analysis.
  • Experience in functionality, compatibility, and compliance/certification testing.
  • Experience in play balance issue identification.
  • Experience with all modern game consoles and portable handheld game systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to express game issues.       
  • Bilingual Japanese-English abilities are preferred but not required.
