OVERVIEW

TITLE:   Retail Sales Analyst

REPORTS TO:  VP, Sales

DEPT:  Sales

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for supporting retail sales team including preparation of sales forecasts and demand planning. Collects, monitors and analyzes sales performance trends to identify issues and opportunities. Develop analytical reports based on statistical point of sale and inventory data. Input and maintain vendor managed portals and systems as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Maintain and generate reports from SAP data.
  • Maintain sales forecast data files and generate reports.
  • Maintain, analyze, and report sell-through performance as defined by VP, Sales.
  • Prepare trend analysis and historical data to drive forecast accuracy.
  • Prepare sales analytic reports for business reviews.
  • Create ad hoc reports as required/requested.
  • Participate in Capcom, customer and agent meetings as needed.
  • Track US-CAD exchange rates to ensure profitability is maintained.
  • Prepare profitability analyses and maintain margin calculation files. (promotional pricing, discounts, closeouts, price reductions, royalty changes.)
  • Assist with tracking coop, price protection and create reports.

Obtain and utilize POS and Inventory information to:

  • Analyze and report sell-through performance by platform, category, and item.
  • Prepare trend analysis and historical data to drive forecast accuracy.
  • Make replenishment and product rebuild recommendations.
  • Help optimize inventory and achieve out-of-stock objectives.

Other Duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree in Business or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three years experience in sales or supply chain analysis.
  • Working knowledge of retail sales, marketing, and promotions.
  • Proficient in SAP, Oracle, or comparable data management systems.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and computer skills including data-driven report generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Access.
